Michael Petty is equally passionate about painting as he is about sports. A successful athlete and an avid sports fan throughout his life, Mike brings the same intensity and passion to his paintings as he exhibited on the field. His work primarily focuses on sports celebrities and captivating events of today, which he renders in a bold and vibrant style.

Over the years, Mike has donated various editions of his work to the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, the Andre Agassi Community Foundation, and the Albert Pujols Family Foundation for fund raising purposes. In addition, he has presented editions of his paintings to the Boston Red Sox, the Detroit Red Wings, and Michigan State University.

While Mike’s work captures numerous athletes in various sports, he is particularly passionate about the Virginia Tech Hokies, Michigan State Spartans, Washington Nationals, and all of Detroit’s professional teams.

Mike is a native of Michigan, but currently resides in the Washington, DC area. He is a 2006 graduate of the fine arts program at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
